What matters first
Featured Emergency Rule 5JER26-2
Volatility Standards for Gasoline
Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services
This emergency rule temporarily allows gasoline blends containing 9% to 15% ethanol (E15) to exceed the ASTM D4814-25 vapor pressure class maximums by up to 1.0 psi during the stated period. The change was made to align Florida standards with a federal EPA waiver issued because unusual fuel supply conditions could otherwise lead to shortages of lawful gasoline for sale in Florida.
Why it matters
This is an emergency rule — it takes effect without the usual public comment period. Takes effect May 1, 2026.
